Cookie Policy
Last updated: 26 October 2026
This policy explains how xStars.co.za uses cookies and similar browser storage. It describes the categories the site may use; the operator must keep it aligned with the tools actually enabled on the production site.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small values stored by a browser. Similar technologies include session storage, local storage, pixels and device identifiers. They can keep a session active, protect forms, remember preferences, measure site use or support advertising.
2. Strictly necessary cookies
xStars uses an essential session cookie to support account sign-in, session integrity, CSRF protection and account-related workflows. Security and verification features may use additional short-lived values. These technologies are needed to provide features you request and cannot generally be switched off within the site without affecting functionality. The session cookie is configured with HttpOnly and SameSite protections, and Secure when HTTPS is detected by the application.
3. Preferences, analytics and advertising
Preference storage may be used if a feature requires it. Analytics, advertising pixels, embedded media or other non-essential tracking should not be enabled without first updating this notice to identify the provider, the data collected, the purpose, retention and any international transfers, and obtaining consent where required by applicable law. This policy does not claim that a particular analytics or advertising vendor is currently active. The operator should audit all scripts, tags, plugins and hosting features before launch and whenever they change.
4. Third-party cookies
When you follow an external link or use a third-party feature, that provider may set its own cookies under its own policy. xStars cannot control cookies set by an independent website. We recommend reviewing the provider’s notice before using the service.
5. Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You may also use private browsing controls and clear site data. Blocking essential cookies may sign you out, prevent form submission, disrupt verification or make saved preferences unavailable. Browser controls do not necessarily block every form of tracking; any optional technologies used by xStars must have their own consent and opt-out controls where required.
6. Retention and updates
Session cookies generally last for the session or according to the session configuration. Other cookies, if enabled, should have documented expiry periods based on their purpose. We will update this policy when cookie practices change. The date above indicates the latest policy revision, not a guarantee that every third-party setting has been independently audited.
7. Contact
Questions about cookies or privacy can be submitted through the xStars contact page.
